An addition that was constructed in the 1950s was removed in 2001 in order to restore the home to its original condition. The home also boasts its original wood flooring! This is the 4th (or more maybe?) time I have stayed here. It’s such an easy check in and especially check out. They don’t ask guests to do anything (don’t need to unmake the bed, take out garbage…nothing!) which makes it so much less stressful. Very friendly and responsive. Love this place!
What an amazing find!! I just loved the grounds and the beautiful Civil War home. Great communication! I want to pack my bags and move in.
Our expectations of the Civil War house were met and then some! Being interested in history and especially Civil War history we couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience. The house has been beautifully restored and not remodeled. It was so comfortable we just wanted to sit and feel the history around us. Our dog was welcome and provided with bowls and a blanket and treats! The grounds of the house are amazing. We were able to walk the beautiful woods and see for ourselves the earth works built many years ago. The house was close to good food and to the battlefields. We will be planning a trip back to stay longer, making it a hub for us to explore the area. Also the owner Dan was so kind to talk to us and explain the property and the incredible houses that are available to rent. Thank you so much for everything.
