Q & A with the Newlyweds

Paige & Zachary: A Love Story at Stevenson Ridge

May 10, 2025

How did you two meet?
“Our story began on a group vacation with friends. Amidst the fun and excitement, we crossed paths and instantly connected. There was something about that first meeting that just clicked, like we had known each other far longer than just a few days. From that moment on, our journey together truly began — a beautiful adventure sparked by friendship, fun, and a perfect spark on that unforgettable trip.”

How did the proposal happen?
“The ring wasn’t just a surprise — it was a symbol of us. We designed it together, making sure every detail was exactly what we both wanted. When Zach took my dad to pick up the finished ring, I knew the moment was near. But Zach waited patiently, choosing the perfect time when I least suspected it. Then, in the quiet comfort of our home, he proposed privately — just the two of us. It was intimate, heartfelt, and exactly how our story was meant to be.”

What made you choose Stevenson Ridge for your wedding venue?
“We fell in love with Stevenson Ridge because of how gorgeous and private the property is. A close friend of ours got married there, and her experience made the place feel even more special to us. While she celebrated at the main venue on the grounds, we were drawn to the Riddick House for its smaller, more intimate setting — exactly what we wanted for our wedding with close family and friends.

We also loved that Stevenson Ridge offered everything in one place: catering, lodging, and on-site coordination. Meeting Taylor, the coordinator, instantly put us at ease — she was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our day perfect. It just felt right to start our next chapter there.”

What was your vision or theme for the day?
“We envisioned a wedding that was intimate and timeless, with the gentle beauty of spring florals bringing life and color to the day. Our goal was to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where every detail felt classic and meaningful, surrounded by our closest family and friends.”

What was the most helpful part of working with the Stevenson Ridge staff?
“Honestly, everything about the Stevenson Ridge team was incredibly helpful. From coordinating every detail and catering to managing the wedding day itself and planning the rehearsal, they were with us every step of the way. Everyone was extremely attentive and worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect. Their dedication made the entire experience smooth and stress-free, allowing us to fully enjoy our special day.”

What were some of your favorite moments from the big day?
“Some of our most cherished moments happened in the quiet, intimate spaces of the day. As a bride, getting ready surrounded by all the moms was so special — a beautiful mix of love and support in one room.

Before the ceremony, the two of us shared a private ‘first touch’ moment, standing on either side of the Riddick House door threshold to talk and connect without seeing each other. It was a calm, meaningful pause that grounded us both.

And to close the night, our private last dance was unforgettable — just the two of us, savoring the magic of the day before stepping into our future together.”

Were there any DIY or personalized elements you included in your wedding?
“We loved adding DIY details that made our wedding truly ours. We created the ceremony programs, menus, and all the signs ourselves, using copper and acrylic for a modern, elegant look.

Because pretzels are Zach’s favorite snack, we had a pretzel bar that was a big hit with everyone. For favors, we put together ‘his and hers’ candy bags featuring our favorite sweets — a sweet way to share a bit of ourselves with our guests.

Instead of traditional florals during the recessional, we celebrated with bubbles — a whimsical and joyful moment that perfectly captured the fun and lighthearted spirit of our day.”

What advice would you give for future Stevenson Ridge couples?
“Our biggest advice is to slow down and really enjoy the planning process. It can definitely be stressful at times, but it’s so worth it in the end. Don’t be afraid to add those personal touches — they’re what truly make the day feel special and uniquely yours.

On the wedding day itself, try to carve out moments to spend with your partner. It’s easy to get swept up in the chaos, but those quiet minutes together mean everything.

And one last tip — absolutely make sure you eat! We barely did, and once the day settled, we were starving. Taking care of yourselves means you’ll have the energy to enjoy every moment.”

Final Thoughts

Paige and Zachary’s day was filled with love, intention, and a sense of calm joy — a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. We are so grateful to have been a part of their story at Stevenson Ridge and wish them a lifetime of meaningful moments just like these.
